Any time I have an issue, this is the first place I come. I really wish I had move knowledge to share, to pay back to the community.



Anyway, got the p0171 and p0174, and that darn elbow is cracked.

Plan to find something strong enough, that will fit at the auto parts store.



Guess I've been lucky so far, seems to happen to most alot sooner.

Knock on wood, never have had a major issue... yet...

Just go get a new upgraded PCV valve line from Ford. Ford already upgraded the elbow with better material. Then you might possibly find some braided material to cover the elbow.

The only thing the parts store is going to have is 5/8 heater hose or a universal pcv elbow...

Thanks, Todd, but when I took the elbow off to try to size it up, I completely tore it into two pieces, and needed the piece asap, and grabbed one from the dealer before I saw this.



Anyway, got the whole assembly, and replaced it, easy as can be.

While I was at it, I replaced the PCV valve ( Thanks Todd for the project info ) I probably should have done that a long time ago.



I cleared the CEL using the code reader, and all seems well.
