Todd,

A couple of questions about the survey.

At this point it appears that most people prefer Louisville, KY as the site for the 2006 National Meet. I think it would have been more usefull to ask a question "Check if you would be willing to attend if the meet was held at ????" for each location? Then ask the same question for each of the three dates. That would allow for multiple answers

Even though their preference may have been for one of the sites, many people would still be willing to drive to attend the meet regardless of the site selected, while others will only be willing to attend one or two of the locations. The same applies to the dates. Some could make it to the meet regardless of the date selected, but others may not.

Someone in Florida would be willing to attend the meet if it was in Georgia or Louisville, but not willing to drive to Dearborn, while someone in Ohio might be willing to drive to Dearborn or Louisville, but not all the way to Georgia.

Also, If Ford selects the Louisville site is, Ford has always wanted to schedule the the meet on the third weekend in June is because of LAP operations. So, if Ford selects Louisville because that is what most members have chosen, they may not get the expected turn out because the June 16-17 is the least preferred date??

I'm not knocking your efforts in trying to organize the the 2006 National Meet, however I don't think the 2 questions on the survey provides enough information to get the optimum mix of potential attendees at each location on each date.

Rich,

You almost got the next step being planned., There is another step real close to your answer.

SEE NEW POST !!!!

Todd,

Sorry. I did not mean to jump the gun, I just think the frew extra survey questions could have saved the extra steps :)

I replied to your latest post, but what happens if Ford says that Louisville is only available on the 3rd weekend of June as they have indicated in the past? Now you must get people to respond to another post with Fords alternative scheduled dates. The survey questions I suggested would have already given you the optimum mix of attendees that would be able to attend any location on any weekend.

I know that organizing any meet is a thankless task. I'm just trying to save you a lot of wasted time in questionaires and surveys and delaying the scheduling of the event any more than necessary. I think the potential attendees need as much time to schedule the meet into their family's schedule as Ford does. Ford cannot expect maximun turnout when they delay approval until the last minute or keep us in the dark regarding their agenda.

...Rich
