Yeah, it does look like a lot of other cars (The GTO). You certainly won't be mistaking the mustang for anything else though. Ford did an amazing job on the Mustang styling this time. I wasn't fond of the last body-style mustang, but this one makes me drool every time I see it.
I drove one of the V6 mustangs last year (the older bodystyle), it wasn't slow by any means, but I just can't see buying a V6 mustang. That's a car that LOOKS fast and it needs to BE fast. The 6-banger just didn't have the oomph that a performance car should have. That probably changed a bit with the latest model, since they bumped up the horsepower, but I suspect that it's still a bit underpowered to be called a true sportscar. I can understand why people don't get the V8, but it's not something *I* would do. Of course I'm a bit of an oddball, so nothing that I do is "normal"...I mean after all, instead of buying a mustang gt or GTO, I supercharged my sport trac. That whine is cool though and you just can't get that with either the stock GT or GTO.
If I could choose between the Mustang GT and the GTO, the GTO would win, not necessarily because of the styling, but because of the raw power. Now if we're talking Mustang Cobra vs GTO, that's a different story entirely. Cobra...YUMMY!

Baron if you want diffrent the get a V6 stang and supercharge it allong with a few other mods and walk all over those V8's . The 5 speed manual tranny in a stock V6 will do 0-60 in a tad over 6 seconds. Several members at a mustang forum I visit say that with the CAI , cat back and the chip (removeing the speed limiter) several have done 140 mph + . I dont know how relibile this info is but I do know that 110 is about a little less than half throtle on flat ground in an automatic V6. I have firs hand knowledge with that fact .

Still, there are a LOT of mustangs out there, both V6 and V8. I very rarely see a GTO. If I want fast, I'll just stick with the trac, it's supercharged and it goes GREAT in the snow!
I'm about 99% sure if I decided to trade this truck off after dumping $4k on the supercharger, then got ANOTHER supercharger and put it on a new car, I'd be single. She wouldn't tolerate that. I barely managed to get THIS supercharger put on without a big argument! Plus, she informs me of how stupid it sounds every time we go anywhere in the trac. I just laugh at her and step on it to make the supercharger whine even louder. mwa ha ha ha!
