I came in late, so maybe I haven't seen all sides, but I do want to say something on this topic.
I have seen those videos before. They are satirical and given the many, many recent discussions of illegals in this country the video about the illegals seems pertinent.
People here have gotten their panties in a twist before about humor, and people have fallen on both sides of the fence on such debates.
I think it was Darin and I that reminded people that a joke that recommends military folks should "kick the ass" of civies that aren't patriotic enough might be misconstrued by many, and many here said "lighten up"...though I think we both said our peace in a constructive way (and I did think the joke was funny). Another time, someone got offended by a word-play joke about Cinco De Mayo (sp?), and that seemed simply ridiculous to me that someone would consider the joke to have racial overtones, but, I understand how that could happen. Humor is just another form of expression, and it won't be without controversy. As long as people debate and discuss the controversy without resorting to personal attacks, I don't see the issue.
Several times people have discussed lawbreaking, dangerous driving, and other behaviors that are illegal and put people in harms way. Often they discuss these things in a way that glamorizes or "shows off" the illegal activity, and very few here ever really say anything critical of them. Yet, so many are quick to criticize when someone passes along a satirical joke or video. It's called satire for a reason.
Do I think Chris should be banned? No. Do I think he is a pain in the butt, what with his newbie questions and his little tirade about "Where are the 'thank yous'?" YES! But are all those ban-worthy offenses? NO! Does anyone think Chris had ill-will or malice in what he said?
