Thousands flock to see wayward whales

The Port of Sacramento is about 15 minutes from us. Not going there though because of the crowds. The last time a whale came up to the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta was about 25 yrs. ago.



WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Thousands of spectators watched Saturday as two wayward whales swam looping half-mile laps around the Port of Sacramento after declining earlier efforts to lure them into the Pacific Ocean.

Hopefully they will find their way back to the ocean when they are ready or in need to get back to the open sea...

I think that some prayer might be in order to get them back to open ocean. :blink:

I heard about this. I think that the baby has been injurred and that is why they are swimming up river. The baby apparently doesn't compute that she is heading the wrong way and the mother is only following her for protection reasons. Very sad story.

I read they were heading back to open waters. Maybe the baby was just sent there for a "time-out".
