Hi folks, a mechanic told me that the front wheels were a little loose when he rocked at 12 and 6 oclock, The bearings are about 3 years old, maybe 15K mikes. He says that he should repack them. Can I just tighten the outer nut and be ok. I am too old to pack the bearings and he wants $110.00.
TKS Ed

On my 2003 4X4 I dont think I could repack them. Is yours 2 wheel drive?
My 4X4 97 Ranger needed to be snugged up almost every month
Hopefully you will get a more knowledgeable reply soon
Thanks Dave

Thanks, guys, mine is a two wheel drive so the repackables are up front.

Look, You "Could" just tighten 1 or 2 castle crowns.... It could last forever, it could burn up..... Only way is to really check with it apart…

Thanks guys, I had a mechanic repack the fronts for me, he charged $118. Does that sound right?
God bless Ed

Yeah, especially if he had to remove the rotors to back the backs..... If not, its still an ok price...
