Hi guys!!!

I have been wondering about the tire size im going to buy. Im getting roughly 19 mpg right now with the stock tire size 235/70/16. Im wondering about the Mpg im going to get if i get the 255/70/16, is there a huge difference between the two sizes? I mostly use the trac on highway.

thanks you'll

by the way you'll awesome!! I learn a lot in this site.

The narrower would have slightly less rolling resistance I think but neither is going to affect MPG's as much as your right foot......;)

Rolling resistance between tires is subjective. From one brand to another or style, tread, rubber composition and cord design. Some tires have lower rolling resistance than another. Most major tire companies, have been experimenting with at least, one tire in their line up. Strictly for low rolling resistance.

They can make a pretty big difference. I remember several years ago my parents had a Nissan Hard-Body pickup that had basic highway tires on it originally. When the time came for tires, they went with a slightly wider/taller tire with a more aggressive AT tread. They lost 3-4 MPG and wound up taking the tires off within a few weeks, and gained the MPG back as soon as the new tires went on. The fact that the truck had just a small 4 cylinder might have exaggerated the problem.
