To those who installed a hitch: Did it feel firmer afterwards?

Just installed a hidden hitch, looks great. I think I'm noticing a much firmer ride than before, less wiggling on bumps and turns. Has anybody else noticed this too, or am I just thinking I'm noticing something that isn't really there? I swear it seems firmer and has better handling, less prone to the heavy wiggling sensation after bumps are encountered. I love it!

I dont have a hitch but I can imagine 2 things.

1)extra weight,helped

2)the hitch tied the frame rails together, cause less twisting..

Good points Eddie, especially #2. I think the hidden hitch definately ties the rails together at the tail and stiffens the chassis a lot more. Those hitches are solid and they mount very well.

Has anyone noticed that on the 07 ST the entire receiver hitch assembly is integrated into the rear chassis crossmember and welded to the rear rails of the truck. I looked at it when I test drove the Limited V8 and it looks nice and solid! I think it's a great design, unless you plan to remove the receiver, IT AINT HAPPENIN!

Thats why the 07 is 400% , yes 400% stiffer frame....
