Nice write up,



What most people are missing over there is that it is not the max flow the TB can Handel, it is how much more air you can get in at less of a throttle position.

Also the easier for the engine to get that air in is also a plus.



I did this mod because the 4.0 ST motor and 01-03 explorers have a Plastic throttle body and it is too thin to bore larger. ALSO it is the exact same bore at the intake so going larger is pointless, But shaving the shaft and the new screws makes the difference on ours.

EDIT: the other thing they are forgetting, is the Mustang and earlier explorer parts are a dime a dozen, it is hard to find a ST throttle body is costing me close to a $80.00 charge used from junkyards, I guess those people either never ran a business or started a small business....



Machining , tools, parts are all expensive.
