Does anyone have any experience /ideas about towing a trailer with the tailgate down? A quick glance shows there should be clearance on the bummper ball and quite a bit if using a hitch.

Got a trip coming up that I am hoping to take my motorcycle in the bed and tow a small sail boat.

Only problem I have is if you have a catamaran, then you really have to check the clearances on a tight turn. You have to load the bike before you hook up the boat so if the tongue weight is heavy it can be a problem. Also make sure the sailboat mast doesn't hit anything on a tight turn. Carry a trailer hitch lock so you can leave the sail boat trailer unhooked when you get where you are going. Careful on a steep incline like a driveway.
