Trac'n to Kansas

Hi,



I will be driving to Kansas arriving on October 1st for NASCAR race. I am now starting to plan my trip and would like some hints on things to see and do while I am there. I am a history buff and a fisherman and would really like to spend some extra time in the area. I will be at Nationwide and Sprint races but will be free starting on Monday Oct 4th. Is there a exceptional Bass Pro Shop or Cabellas there? Any note-worthy historic sites? Any police members on here who would like a brother to visit for coffee?



Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

There is a very nice Cabellas very close to the Race Track.

Also a Bass Pro shop within about 30 minutes of there in Olathe KS.



For History, There is the WWI memorial and museum in Kansas City, The Harry S Truman Farm home in Grandview, and museum in Independence. Nelson Atkins Museum too. Also, if you have time, go to the Steam Boat Arabia museum. (Been several times myself as they are always getting new items on display.)
