Traction control and transmission

My 2007 SportTrac has the traction control activate for no reason and cannot be turned off with the button. The brake activates and I cannot throttle up to accelerate. It will turn off once the truck is turned off but not until then. Also when coming to a slow stop the truck lurches forward like the transmission is skipping before it stops. This does not happen all the time but it does occur often. It is at the dealer now but they are having a problem duplicating the problems. Any help is greatly appreciated. Also FYI I have only owned the truck for about 6 weeks.

unfortunately the 2007 St had a bad transmission "bump" it has taken members here several trips, many TSB's, and some mechanical repairs to remove the issue...



As for the Traction control, there was some one else having that issue..... you can turn it off, but that is not right.... I think it was electrical or something else....

It's easy to duplicate the problem.



Drive along and come to almost a complete stop - then press the gas. The bump usually happens there.



I believe it's trying to stay in second gear but by not stopping all the way, it sometimes gets confused and downshifts HARD into first at the last second.



The only thing that tends to stop it is to have all the TSB's applied. Mine is OK now but it used to drive me crazy.

I had the latest TSB applied regarding the transmission bump (don't have TSB#, I think Lil' Red knows it), and I have had zero problems now for over 2 years now.

Thanks for the input. The dealer called me and said the transmission is all set , they had to reprogram the computer and they fixed it. I am looking into Mass state used car law now since he told me that they can't reproduce the the traction control problem and it will not be covered after my warranty runs out in a couple of weeks even though it is an existing problem. That is not OK but hopefully he is wrong on that one.
