Just as the title says, after six and half years and two STs later I have moved on. Just wanted to say thanks for all the help along the way. Any questions I ever had, I came here first, and never walked away without an answer.

Thanks guys.

As much as I loved both my '04 and '08 Sport Tracs I must admit, the raptor is by far the best truck I have owned. Except for gas mileage. Anyway, thanks again.

Here are a few quick pictures, not that great but the iphone has a crappy camera. I have had the truck for about 2 weeks now, and broke 1k miles earlier today. The ride is amazing. It handles curves and turns better then a truck should. I haven't taken off-roading yet, but I have been down a few "tank trails" on post. The dirt roads where the Army drives it strykers down, to keep them off of the main roads. It handles bumps, and ruts like there is nothing there. Driving about 35-50 down these dirt roads never did I feel like i wasn't in complete control of the truck. The ride was extremely smooth for the conditions. The turn radious is amazing for a truck of its size. And the seats are very comfortable.

The down side is I am avaraging 12.6 mpg. This is the overall avaerage of my 1000 miles. I mainly do highway driving to work and around town. I have about 300 expressway miles on it so far and probily 75-100 "play time" miles.

I think I can sum up my opinon of the Raptor with the following statement. About 2 months ago I bought my wife a 2010 Camaro. I love driving the Camaro, but since I have bought the Raptor I haven't been inside it.

travis, you have the 5.4?, do you know if an option exsists to order one without the graphics?

thats the only thing I do not like about the raptor.

It is the 5.4. To my knowledge the 6.0s aren't available yet. And yes you can get it without the graphics. I actully didnt want them, but after 5 dealerships, and none in the Olypmia, Wa area having a black one, I settled for the graphics package. They are growing on my though. They had to truck it from northern Cali.

6.2 was available 12/1/09, so ford said, maybe need to be special ordered.

not fond of the graphics tho, enjoy, nice truck.

12.6 mpg is pretty crappy though.. are you still doing the "I have a new truck it's fun to drive, pedal to the floor all the time" move though?

Those are AWESOME!!!!! If I wasn't paying for kids college I'd get one.

Not that much, although I find myself speeding a lot. It feels like I'm going much slower then I am. I was on the expressway last week with no other cars around and when I looked down to check my speed I was doing 80. I would have judged it a lot closer to 60, which is the speed limit.

congrats

very nice off road choice. with bill on this, also not fond of graphics.

btw, do you do alot of off roading that this vehicle is built for?

from what i read they or great off road.

Congrats. I have actually been considering trading my STA for 6.2.

Nice to hear they are as nice to live with as they look. And my STA V8 AWD only gets 14ish average mpg so I can live with the delta.
