I posted several videos on youtube from a trail camera I have on the property I bought about a year ago in west central PA. These were the highlights from last week out of a total of 53 vids. The camera is set up on a small patch of clover. There is also a small fruit orchard just out of the frame to the right. Only the last one is linked. You will need to copy and past the others into your web browser. Enjoy!

Where abouts in central Pa. are you? There's going to be a big offroad trail run just outside of Windber, Pa. On Sept. 7-8. Check out my post in the events page.

Cool videos. We've had low fawn numbers this year and the only fawn I'm still seeing is out of her spots. Haven't seen any bucks yet.

I built a blind and set up my camera last week. Camera won't do any good until I put the batteries in it tomorrow, lol. Hoping to get a new permanent stand up this weekend and test out some shooting lanes where I want to put my climber. Also hoping to get a winter blend food plot started in a couple weeks.

Archery season is coming up soon!

Missed two coyotes last week with my .22LR.:fire: Now have the AR more readily available. Those were the first I've seen in three years. Probably has something to do with the low fawn numbers.

Hugh, I am amazed by how many fawns I have seen this year. I took a short walk this past Saturday evening and counted twenty one deer within a quarter mile of the house. They were all in the neighbor's soybean fields. Almost half of them were fawns.

I also planted a small food plot in a natural opening in my woods on Saturday. Over the years the grape vines have pulled down all the trees in an area about 40 yards in diameter. I used a DR Trimmer to chop down all the three foot high ferns in about a third of that area. Then I raked it bare and spread about five pounds of Throw & Gro. Never tried this stuff before but I thought what the heck, can't hurt.

Last year I discovered that the deer were leaving the soybean fields in the morning and traveling up the powerline that crosses the fields to the top of the ridge on my land and then down the backside right through this natural opening where I just planted the food plot.

I already had a ladder stand just below this spot on the West side and I took a doe and a decent eight point there last year in archery season. On Sunday morning I moved one of the other ladder stands to a spot along the upper edge on the East side of the new plot. I should now be good to hunt this area regardless of wind direction.

Today, I couldn't get the tractor through the plot I'm going to make because it started sinking and I didn't want to just make a bunch of ruts. Food plots are new for me - making them, anyways. Still got a lot of research to do. I've been on the QDMA forum a few nights now.

I have a spot I'm going to try that Throw & Gro. It's a spot that stays pretty green through the winter and is in the middle of pines. About 40 yards from my blind.
