Found this site. How many of these things are actually recalls that have to be done by the dealer if the warranty is over?

Ok so I wasn't going crazy when I couldn't find the tsb number. A TSB does not mean that you have the problem, it simply states that some vehicles may have this problem and if it does then this should be performed before any further diagnosis is attempted. A TSB is not a recall. Just becasue a TSB exsists for a certain issue does not mean that the mfg will cover the repair of the vehicle outside of the warranty period for a mentioned TSB but in some circumstances the warranty will be extended for a particular issue only.

Short answer to your question: None of them.



Longer answer to your question: A TSB is not a recall. A TSB is a description of a common problem and remedy. It is not meant to imply that a dealer service center will perform proactive work related to the TSB even if the vehicle is under warranty. If you have a vehicle that is exhibiting a problem described in a TSB then the dealer service center MAY perform the work outlined, and if under warranty they may not charge you. Or, they may refuse to do the work, or they may do the work and charge you if off warranty, etc. Essentially, if the work will be done, what work will be done, whether or not you will be charged is at the discretion of the service manager.

If you have a good dealer. That wants your return bussiness. Sometimes they will fix a tsb as warranty.

My dealer that closed down was that way. They did this for my wifes '01 first year escape. That is why I bought my trac from them. Gonna miss them for my next ford purchase.



The closest ford dealer to me now. Has 40yr record of crappy service after the sale. Warranty and none warranty. Even their service writers act like they suck lemons or green prsimons.
