tune up

I have 40k on my 01 ST. I'd like to change the spark plugs and wires. What else should I do for a tune up?

Air filter and fuel filter...

the next interval for all the other fluids is at 60K..

Just kidding. The plugs and wire will present a challenge. Fairly hard to remove the wires and not damage the ends of the wires. I suggest having a set available just in case.....



Not too many places stock them so i would suggest checking into it before you start the job.

i should stick with motorcraft plugs right? what about the wires?

I would also change the belt. It's cheap insurance..

I have 57,000 miles on my 2002 Trac. For this summer, I have done the following...



Motorcraft Plugs

Taylor-Vertex Wires

Motorcraft belt

Upper and lower Motorcraft hoses

Motorcraft Thermostat

Motorcraft Fuel filter

Changed the Engine oil, Tranny fluid (next weekend), Rear differential fluid, power steering fluid, Brake fluid, antifreeze.



I wont have to touch her for another 2 years, well except the fuel filter. I try to do that once a year.

Brake fluid should be changed every three years or earlier. It absorbs water and can cause bake problems if the future.
