grande cache,
Hey guys, just looking for some help. I have a 08 sport trac (V8). The only modifactions so far are: magna flow exhaust and a drop in KnN filter. On friday I bought the bully dog Gt tuner. Installed the tuner and it was terrible. Caused my check engine light to come on, not reading trans temp properly, saying its 7293 degress C along with a few other things. I cant even clear the code. Contacted bully dog and spent 4 HOURS ON THE PHONE!. They were stumped and currently have the programer looking into it. I am gonna return it for refund and see if the dealer can "fix the mess". Yes, its still under warrenty :(, gonna see what they can do for me.

Should I give up on tuners or keep looking. New to the site but have hear possitive things about the SCT tuner and a person named torrie who does custom tunes for it...any ideas on how to go about this tuner option.

<--------------------- Site sponsors link...... NOTHING is better then the XCAL and Torrie...

HANDS down !!

Any thing else is wasting your $$..

If you were able to return your truck back to the "stock" tune before you had sent the Diablo tuner back, then you'll have no problem. Contact Torrie through the link below and he will set you up. You also may want to look into the following:

K&N intake set-up for a 2008 Ford Explorer

An oversized throttle body from Todd @ Zabtek

(8) high output (+40,000 volts) ignition coils from Jegs

Check your vehicle production date, if before February 2008, change your spark plugs to the newer one piece design.

My V8 runs great, what a difference those changes made. Torrie was able to optimize the tuner for those changes and caution, it will only run on 93 octane fuel now!! Good luck, BC

Thanks for the quick replys!

Todd Z, im gonna try to track down XCAL and torrie

Bob C, I was able to tune it back to stock so am gonna make an appointment this week to clear up the issues. I will look into the other products you mentioned...thanks a million.

I checked the sticker on my door for production date. its 07/07, where would i track the one piece down? Ford? What about price?

crozz - Torrie should be able to do an 87 economy and also an 87 performance tune, besides a 93 tune if you buy a SCT x3 tuner from him.

So you shouldn't be locked down to a 93 tune, with the mild mods you have done. You may find through preference that the 93 tune gives you a better result. I preferred the 93 tune back when I had the K&N CAI and Magnaflow catback.

Good luck with the tuner and the plug install. As Todd said, Torrie is the best!
