turn signals/brake lights only work when tilt wheel is in the "up" position

yep, lots here have had it. There's a wiring harness in the steering column that is beggining to come unplugged. when it's tilted up it's pulled so tight that it's barely making contact and is shorting out the lights. when it's down it works. Eventually it will pull it completely apart. You can fix it yourself, takes about 15 minutes. once you've plugged it back up, pull some extra slack out in that wire so that it wont happen again. someone here may have done a illustrated project on it in the "projects" section of the website
 
If you do a search you will find several posts with this issue. Tnere ls a TSß on this. The wire harness is too short and the pins sererate at the harness.



Under coverage Ford will fix it for free. Out of coverage you pay out of pocket.



 
I fixed mine myself with no replacement parts...just plugged back up and pulled out some slack several months ago and haven't had a problem since. know others who did too. why go anywhere and pay? literally 15 minute job
