If you don't think our military pilots earn their pay ... you need to take

a look at this picture ... and then look again and realize what you're

seeing ..

[Broken External Image]:

This photo was taken by my buddy in Afghanistan of a halo rescue mission.

The pilot is a PA Guard guy who flies EMS choppers in civilian life. Now

how many people on the planet you reckon could set the ass

end of a chopper down on the roof top of a shack on a steep mountain cliff

and hold it there while soldiers load wounded men in the rear??? If this

does not impress you ... nothing ever will. Gives me the chills and a

serious case of the vertigo ... I can't even imagine having the nerve ..

much less the talent and ability ... God Bless our military!!!!!

MPT, yep, you are correct! Having served in Viet Nam, I know first hand what those pilots do every day in and out of combat. I had this lust to want to always learn to fly oe of those helicopters or fighter jets , but never had the nerve to join up with the Air Force because I have always had a phobia about height and flying. BUT, they have nerves of steel and are true heroes, as well as all active and inactive military personnel and those who died and who are retired or just ended their military obligations!. You as well, MPT! Thanks for a great shot of heroism!

my buddy was there in another CH-47 Chinook and took the pic out of the window. sent it to me cause i have been there.... right where they stand doing the exact same thing. thats the only place they can "LAND" to get casualties and prisoners out. As an M.P. (Military Policeman) i see alot of cool stuff but he just happened to have his camera on him at the time.

Same as mrmarvyn, I also served in vietnam. I was always amazed at the talent and heroics of our chopper pilots. God blesss the door gunners also..

First thought is...When has the USA Armed Forces not at their best? Impressive...HELLA YEAH!!! but, when have they not been???

Nam Huey jockeys were the **** and NOTHING has been lost. Passed on, BUT, NOT LOST...Even though the heliocopters really shouldn't fly, they do and those who fly them...Git-Er_Done...One way or another.

God Bless the Forces and ALL who are giving the GREATEST sacrifice to be givien!!!!!!!!!!

THANKS,

Dave

Military pilots are very skilled. Some of the planes come back with parts of wings missing and they still manage to get them home. What is more amazing is that some planes like the B-52 and A-10 may have been flown by their grandfathers.

Looks like the force field generator protecting the Death Star on Endor. That pilot better watch out for Ewoks! :)

Yes, now that you mention it, Karma, it kind of looks like a Dark Purple Teletubbie!!!

(I have grandkids living at home with me, so I was kind of quick to identify with that)!

Karma,

Did you mean rescue the Teletubbies, or the poor soldiers that had to go through the

traumatic experience of having seen one!?!?

I'm praying for the soldiers!
