Uh oh... I bought a new toy!

Well, it's new toy time again...



I grew up driving 'concession' go karts in suburban Chicago, and my older step brother had a racing go kart as a teenager. I've always wanted to get into racing them, and today I took the plunge...

I bought a Birel M31 125cc TaG kart. It's used, but it's only got 3 hours and 45 minutes on it! With a NICE stand, too!

I gotta break open the piggy bank for this one! LOL I'll get to race with the 'AARP crowd'...

I fit in it great! We need to adjust the steering column a bit, but the pedals are fine. The seat's a large one, so no problem there! I'm going out to the Prairie City OHV park go kart track on Saturday to 'get fitted'. I'll take it out and test it out for the day, and we'll tune it in for my liking. I'm stoked!

Those are so much fun. We did a few hours at a track in CO when we went to visit some friends there. We only got the "slow" carts which went 55mph. It was soo much fun throwing/sliding them through the turns.

Cool What engine are you going to put in it? Can you race it at RPM on Bradshaw? Or, is that not open to BYOC (bring your own cart)?

No Rodger, you can't take it to RPM. They are 'concession' karts, and are a lot slower than this one. Besides, it's pretty small in there! It's fun, but it's small...

I can run it at Prairie City on the track there, or at the tracks in Davis, Dixon, or the Stead/Lemon Valley track outside Reno.

And it's got a Parilla 125cc engine.

I BELIEVE it'll hit at least 80 mph on the straits. I know the 125cc shifter karts will do 100 mph no problem! Guess I'll find out on Saturday...
