OK, so this will seem like I am pretty petty or anal to some. But I want to try to make my 2001 ST look as new as I can. It is new to me. I have owned it for only a month now.

Can someone help me? Tell me how to color or clean the insulation under the hood so it is all an even black color?

Thanks to all of you that have posted things about how to find the door lock code and getting hardware for the factory tonnuea cover. These things have been a GREAT help.

I have never found a way to clean it. Just go to the Ford dealer parts dept or the site sponsor here and order a new one.

I guess you could try to use high heat paint to paint it black again....or you could try a dye or something similar...I don't think you can clean them though. Paint would be worth a shot and if it doesn't work you could go get a new one from the dealer.

no no no, don't listen to these jokers! (just kidding guys)

I used to work in a detailing garage that would make cars look like new. I found that if you find an engine-friendly degreaser (not sure if there is a problem just using household cleaning degreaser or not - maybe someone can speak to that - eddie?)

Squirt on, spray off - presto.

I just bought a new one..... easier...
