How many of you carry a emergency kit in your vehicle?

Ever since I got my first vehicle I have always carried one and have used things from it multiple times. In the one I carry it has jumper cables, basic tools to work on minor issues, first aid for both small and large injuries, snacks, and scene safety. Up until the beginning of this year I had been carrying road flares.

When using road flares you have to be cautious about a the location in which they are being set up, how long you will be on scene, clean up of the flare and a few others. Because of this I had only used a road flare a handful of times, in some cases where I could not use them they could have helped. I was introduced to a product called PowerFlares about a year ago. PowerFlares are LED road flares/marker lights. I purchased them this year instead of replenishing my pyrotechnical road flares; and I cannot believe that I did not purchase these sooner. No more worries about where I can put the flares or clean up of their debris. Plus the can be used OVER and OVER again. I have used these so many times now that they have already paid for themselves if I were still using the pyrotechnical flare. This is a great product and highly recommend this product to replace the pyrotechnic flares.

Just wanted to share some information and a testimonial

Ditto onthe led power flares. There is more than one brand out there. I have seen them in harbor frieght.

Some come in variuos sizes. The 3" round are the most comon.

I have two LED flashing Flares....but I have had mine for over 5 years. I keep one in each vehicle. They are about 6" X 4", amber colored lens and a magnetic back so they can stick to anything steel, like your trunk, tailgate, etc. They have about a dozen LED's inside and they are very bright.

I never liked conventional flares because they can be very dangerous. You may not notice that gasoline is leaking from one of the vehicles...then you might be creating a tragedy from a minor mishap.

Also, both of my vehicles are equipped with fire extinquishers and first aid kits. In addition to the LED Warning Flares, I also have a large folding warning triangle from Germany. It was mandatory to have a warning triangle in your vehicle in Germany.

The LED flares presented here are really cool. I like them, but I certainly don't like the price!!

The cost for a 6-pack is outrageous !!!! Even a single unit with a non-rechargable batter is $60...way too expensive.

I think I paid about $5 each for my LED Flares, and I have never had to use them. $500+ for 6 LED flares is a lot of money for something you may never need to use? These units would be ideal for Tow trucks, and Police departments to equip each vehicle with, but for the average consumer, they are out of most people's budget.
