Hello all, thanks to the season I've recently noticed an issue with my Sport Trac. Any time the tires slip the vehicle will suddenly have really bad vibrations whenever the accelerator is pressed and the steering wheel will suddenly jump (gave me a slight heart attack today on the interstate) when turning slightly like lane changes or just following the road. A temporary fix has been just pulling over and restarting the vehicle. Any ideas where to start looking for the issue? It's a 2007 V6 4WD XLT

Common cause of steering wheel shake is air in the power steering system. Often happens when turning the wheels with the engine NOT running. To correct, start the engine and slowly turn the steering wheel all the way left to right repeatedly until the shaking subsides. Another way is find an empty parking lot while driving slowly doing the same. Did you recently do work with the front tires off the ground?

Thanks for the reply! I haven't recently had the front off the ground, I tested like you said but I'm still having issues. The shaking only happens when I press the accelerator in and is only noticable above at around 35+ mph. Good thing is my steering wheel doesn't shake anymore now 👍 but it does still suddenly jump. The shaking is only happening after the traction control triggers or if any tire slips no matter how much. So I'm wondering if the computer may be messed up. Something interesting I noticed was if I have cruise control on the vehicle has zero issues handling itself.
