i did a double din kenwood, i didnt want the vents blocks, deal with failing hinges with the pull out, i like the flush DD look, and uhm... yeah thats about it :)

Double DIN flush......my concern for the single DIN retractable is the possibility of the hinge mechanism becoming loose over time due to road vibrations, etc. Also, I don't like the fact that they often cover other controls, A/C vents or extend higher than the dash. It doesn't look like it belongs or is a custom fit .

I have the single din retractable, but I am most probably selling the unit, and getting the double din.

from a AVIC-N1 to a AVIC-Z1

I like my double DIN. Looks more OEM then the single with retractable screen.

I also went and got a Explorer Radio Bezel with a rear defroster switch. Modified a 2nd fog light switch to use for something else (not determined what I want yet). Also I didnt want to modify the OEM bezel, because IF I sell the ST the radio will not go with it.

i have had both i like the single din because you can mount the screen up higher (to show it off and makes watching movies going down the road easy) but i also like the double din because it dont block the vents and looks factory

i have install prolly 6 dozen in dash tv's in my day and i now have a single din retractable. i will soon be going to a double din. the motor fails from time to time and the gears can get jammed since they are exposed. since i hardly ever listen to CD's it wont matter cause the screen will hardly ever be opened.

Double Din IMO
