If you get a message from anyone on your AIM buddy list that says " see " followed by a link, DO NOT CLICK THE LINK. It's a nasty virus and also installs a bunch of spyware. It also sends itself to everyone on your buddy list if you click the link, and repeats the same process on anyones computer that clicks it..I don't know if this is new, or an old one, but either way, I thought I'd warn anyone that may not know already..

Warn your AIM buddies, and if you're a member of any other forums, you might want to spread the word there as well.

hi shane i just want to thank you for the warning. i have teenage kids that have AIM, and they have a buddy list. i just told them about it. so once again thank you from paulette

Hey Shane. I got this message tonight from a friend. I'm pretty computer literate though, so I knew not to accept it. But yes...

... IF YOU EVER RECEIVE A MESSAGE FROM SOMEONE, WHETHER YOU KNOW THEM OR NOT, BEFORE YOU CLICK ON THE LINK !!!ASK!!! THEM WHAT IT IS. IF IT IS LEGIT, THEN THEY WILL KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SENDING YOU. IF THEY ACT LIKE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS, THEN THAT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE IT IS A VIRUS IN FACT...

so thanks Shane for pointing it out.

If you are ever unsure of things, always do a Google search. If it IS a virus or spyware, etc., etc., it will come up.

Yes i would also like to thank you for this tip. I am a avid AOL Instant Messanger user and thank the lord i havent seen this message yet but thanks for the tip

aww baron... only reason they don't write viruses for Mac's is because so FEW ppl own one!. Not worth the trouble for a hacker to write the code.

Yup, I second the vote Baron! After 10 years on a PC, I switched two years back and have loved it since then

With the PC, I got too tired of panicking any time I would come home and hear the wife say "I got a really strange e-mail, so I opened it...." arghhh! Now with the Mac, I just nod, smile and say "That's nice honey".

Edit: Typo
