I noticed "dirty water" on my driveway and when I looked under my ST I noticed the seam had water dripping. Is this dangerous? What should I do about it?

Thanks, Bob

Agree, the muffler's weld seams are not necessarily stainless, and can leak.

If it's aftermarket, many carry a lifetime warranty depending on the brand.

Most mufflers have a hole there from the factory to allow water to drain..

The only thing that an engine produces is water and a bunch of contaminants. The "moving you forward" thing is a by-product of hydrocarbons burning, the primary product is water and contaminants.

If there is definately an opening due to rust , age or wear, its gonna need a new muffler. Try to get one made of stainless(I prefer Magnaflow) and have it installed with the seam on the top. Bob

PS: OK, go ahead and tell me I'm wrong, I can take it!

Complete combustion in an internal engine produces H2o, Co2, and Heat. :)

Options:

1) Park in the grass, more water the better.

2) Step on the pedal, turns water drips into vapor and Fun.
