I have a 2005 4x4 ST. After several rain storms I have found some water intrusion. I went into the storage unit behind the rear seat and the carpet was soaked. There doesn't seem to be water anywhere else in the vehicle. Has anyone discovered this problem as well? If so was it the rear window seal or somewhere else that is letting the water in? I did a quick search on topic here. Nobody seemed to have problems in the storage area. Thanks for any assistance.

There have been a few common issues with this.

If you have a Moon roof, the drains may be plugged, if so, the water will normally settle back there.

Also, some of the seals at the back glass are bad and allow water in.

didn't someone suggest 3rd brake light in a previous post?

Les,

I am leading up to that.

I think it would be more likely than a window seal.

i also found a water leak yesterday when i went through the car wash, but it is around the clothes hook in the back around the head liner. is this unusual? how can i track it down to repair it? i did a quick look at the roof on the out side and i didnt see holes? but when its -12 i really didnt want to stay out side too long.

Could be the roof rack bolts too.....

No moon roof or sat radio, the ST is completely stock. I'm going to check the window seals and roof rack, thanks. Sorry it's so cold argetim, I'm going to work on mine, it's 76 out. :)

With no sunroof, I would look at the 3rd brake light. When I did my Xm install, I ran the wire through there and the gasket was not aligned correctly from the factory. I realigned it and also sealed it with rtv. No leaks.

There is another place that it could be coming from. my Grandfather has a 2003 ST and he was driving in a rain storm and he had the same prob it was coming from,[Broken External Image]:

It is the little "lip" that runs along the roof line just beside the roof rack. it had came up just a little, allowing water to get in. I guess the seal came un-sealed

I don't know if this helps but i thought i would try and help

My 03 leaked as well, rear passenger door. I found the door seal was loose and sagging on the top. Water would run in with every rain. I put a small drop of silicone on the seal and put it back in place. Problem solved. Rod
