Just wondering how many people use a buffer/polisher to wax their vehicles. What are the advantages? Do you get a better shine with one, or is it just as good to do it by hand.

Eagle One wax as u dry. Works great. Dont have to worry about that arm falling off type of pain and time. As for your question, I would go with the buffer but for those hard to reach locations, the good old fashion way hand buffing would do.

Hand wax; best to keep the buffer to cutting and finishing polishes. And stay away from Kmart $25 specials. They swirl like nobody's business. Buffers with variable speeds (2000-6000 rpm) are best. And last--make sure you practice before you take it to your prized ride. As Rob said, you can do a lot of damage with a buffer if you're not familiar with the technique.

I use an orbital. Makes it quick and gives a good shine.Saves alot of work on buffing out small scratches._Ron
