Someone's (who was very important at Disney) loss is my gain. I purchased a pin collection of a Disney important person and have several extremely limited edition pins that I have no idea what to do with. I'm looking for any information that anyone can offer that will help me educate myself on these pins. I've already looked up the basics of a lot of the pins (I'd be here all night if I looked them all up) on pinpics.com, but I'm curious as to value and demand.

Anyone have any advice?

BTW, the guy's wife sold them to me after he left her..... I got a REALLY good deal...

We're not hard core collectors, but we purchased some when we were at Disneyland last spring. Can you post a pic of the set? I'd contact Disney Corp to see where you could get the set appraised, as well as the PBS Series Antiques Road Show. I do know that the longer you hold on to them the more valuable they become especially as a set.

From Wikipedia (link below):

Values of Disney pins can depreciate as well as be very valuable for rare, highly desired pins. For many Disney pins, unlike other collectables, the value of the pin on the secondary market can be very high when the pin is first released and demand is high, then drop dramatically over time. Only a handful of pins retain or increase in value over time, like the surprise pin “Wet Paint”,which originally sold for $8.50 [4] and now typically sells for over $200 on sites like eBay.

Yikes, I just checked ebay and I know for sure I have two of the ones in the link below.

I also have 3 pins that I know only 150 were made and given to foreign dignitaries and disney higher-ups. I didn't know these pins would be worth so much....

I think I'm going to hold on to these for at least a little while. At least until I know for sure my friend's husband knows she sold them to me. I figure it's not worth him doing something CRAZY and possibly harming my friend in any way over a pin collection. If he goes ape s*&%, I'll gladly return them for my money.

Gosh they are cool though. I'll have to post some pictures.

Funny, I grew up in Orlando, FL and live there now and I think this is the first in my life that I've owned Disney pins. Ha!
