4th of July, dingo helped me with my leather steering wheel, last weekend it was the window tinting, that turned out very nice. This weekend I will be installing this:

it is on its way to atlanta now, should be delivered tommorrow morning. the GPS unit that docks inside is not availible, which is fine since neither is the money to buy it yet. Should also finally be able to permanently mount my amp this weekend as well.

Is the GPS unit that docks inside that gives it the navigation functionality? How much will that unit run and is it a DVD type navigation sysem?

the gps unit is not for sail as of yet. the portable unit has a harddrive so the navigation runs off of that.

I have the IVA-W200 in my ST, its the same minus the dock for the GPS. Overall, I love it, it has a few things I wish were different though. You need to get a bypass module to override the parking brake feature, I used the Pac TR-7. If you don't, you can't adjust a lot of your settings or play video while driving.

oh I need that bypass module. the whole point of having the dvd is so when I drive around atlanta looking up shooting locations for smokey and the bandit, I can have the movie in there for comparison.



I thought it would be possible just to not hook up the parking brake feature??



I will take a look when I recieve it, hopefully tommorrow, as of 9pm it arrived in atlanta so assuming UPS delivers on saturday, I should have it. shame I am only about 5 miles from the Doreville ups location.



I may have to have dingo look at it, I am sure he knows how to bypass the dam thing. He loves overriding factory settings.

Unfortunately, it's not as simple as just not hooking up the wire or grounding the wire like the old DVD units were. To bypass the safety feature you have to set the p. brake, then release it, then set it again. You could do it with a toggle switch, but you must do it everytime the key is turned off and on again. It was worth the $30 or so I paid for the module. Also, unless Saturday delivery was paid for, don't expect it to arrive until Monday....

well it doesnt look like it will arrive before monday, ups changed the delivery date to monday, so I have to wait. I will remove the old stereo tommorrow.



worst case is that I buy that 30 dollar module i guess.



I guess I will go mount my amp now.
