Got back yesterday from a appx. 200 mile round trip with the family in Cape Canaveral Florida. Towed my 4650lb dry weight travel trailer including cargo which i estimate to be right at the max of 5230 towing capacity of my sport trac. Even in the windy and rainy conditions its handled pretty well for my drive back home. From My point of view the sway bar, weight distribution, taking overdrive off, and driving 55mph and below are a must when doing such heavy weight. A big THANK YOU to Scott Tanner on sharing his towing experiences with me to get me ready to travel longer distances.

Glad to hear everything went OK!! :supercool:

I don't know about gen 2 tracs, but my gen 1, after 25 or so miles, reprograms itself to adapt to the new driving style. (or so it seems). After that, the power seems to get better, as well as the shift points. The Trac has crazy power if I can get the revs over 3200 rpm, I really wish I had the 4.10 gears... One morning in 2003, I was towing the TT out of Alberquerque, NM up the west loooooong hill, doing 70 without any effort, it seems... That was awesome.. I would love to get a tuner chip for it..

let's see some pics!!

I meant to take some pics but forgot the camera, but next time ill definetely get some which is going to be around mothers day. The funny thing is that i thought my vehicle to trailer ratio looked funny until i saw a jeep liberty towing something comparable to my tt.
