So I bought my 1990 T-bird SC today. Anniversary edition with a 5 speed, making it one of 147 built. It is being shipped from CA on Thursday and will make it here to me on the east coast by Feb. 2nd. It has a few miles on it (over 100k) but it isn't goign to be a daily driver (that's what the sT is for). This is my fun car. The only thing that it does not have on it is the original wheels (but it does sort of..) A previous owner (I will be the 3rd) did not like the black wheels that were exclusive to the Anniversary edition, so he had them painted silver. Once I get the car I'll take a look at them to see if he painted over the black, or took it off and painted them... I may just have to find some black ones elsewhere... Anyways I need to get my plates for this car and was hoping for some help in choosing. Below are the ones I came up with and are available in VA according to the DMV website:

1 QUIK SC : One Quick Super Coupe

1 QUIK V6 : Self explanatory

SUPA-CGD : Supercharged

1 OF 147 : 1 of 147 cars made

QWK TBRD : Quick Thunderbird

BLWN BRD : Blown Bird

SC UL8R : See U Later

FST 35TH : Fast 35th

QWK 35TH : Quick 35th

SCLEEPR : Sleeper

The one I really wanted is taken already (Probably by a Grand Prix)

BLWN V6 : Blown V6

Thanks!

pnoid72: I like your Syclone. Friend of mine had a Typhoon. Great looking fast SUV.. The blue stripe is definately going to go back on. I have the color and dimentions. I'll probably contact SeattleSportTrac about getting one made when it is time. I want to get the car here and go over it myself in person before I go ordering too much stuff for it. I also need to get the Aniversary wheels back on it...

ToddZ: I like Got Whine and No NOS. Rare SC is a good one too.. .. I'll have to check the DMV to see if any versions of that are taken...

Q: I had a black '89 5 speed years ago. That is where all this started for me. I had always wanted a anniversary 5 speed, just waiting for the right time and approval from the wife. Both of those planets aligned. (BTW: If you followed the previous post--the shower with kindness approach worked.)

The guy I bought it from has 10 SC's. 1 Automatic Anniversary, and one 5 speed (mine now) plus others ranging from 1990-1995. He had them for sale for a while but dropped the prices on them yesterday. He called it his WOMAN (Wife On My Ass Now) sale to get rid of them. Gues since he has his 4th kid on the way in a month, the wife figured that they either need the cash, space, or time.. Now I just wait for it to be delivered. Thsi is almost as bad as waiting for my '07 to come in.. Just a much shorter wait.

I wish I knew what number it was, but Ford did not track them this way. It seems like the would be able to with a VIN, but noone has been able to do it. They have just gotten as far as knowing that 147 were made with the 5 speed.

I did a search of inventory on your rims. This is the picture that comes back for the 35th edition. That said, once you open the list, they list both a black finish as well as the rim pictured.

The black rims are running $150 ish and I found 34 of them.

The pictured rims are running $120 ish and I found 68 of them.

So they are out there if you need/want them...

Wow thanks Coastie. Wasn't expecting that. I seem to be doing pretty good on the Super Coupe Forums. I have already found 2 of them for 100 plus shipping. If I don't come across the other 2 I need I'll get in touch with you about finding the other 2 I need.
