Yesterday, when i was driving, i wasnt paying attention in a neighborhood, and I ran into a mailbox. Theres a pretty good sized dent on the front of the hood, and i was wondering if i should try to fix myself or go to a body shop and get it fixed. Any suggestions?

It depends if you want it to look like original or not. Most owners have little or no experience and the result will look like it. I've restored cars and done more than average body work (see my 69 BOSS 302 in my library) but I'd rather have a good body shop do most repairs for me. Even if you get the contours right, the blending of the color when you paint it is most likely not going to turn out good for a rookie. Just MO!

Good luck,

If the hood is not buckled. Body shops will have the tools to pull the dent out. Using very little filler.

Yeah, the dent in the hood is about the sized of a circle on a can of coke. Do you have an idea on how much that would cost to get fixed at a body shop?
