Looking to get my wife a replacement vehicle. Presently she has a 2003 Explorer with the 3rd seat option. That is the only thing we must have, the rest we can get, like leather, power roof and what not...

I am familiar with the Lexus options, but looking for input on what is out there.

Thanks in advance...

Toyota, Mitsubishi, I think the Honda

I will be checking out all suggestions today. I can not put her into anything too small as she had a REALLY BAD accident, since then, pretty much full size SUV's.

I guy crossed the medium, launched in the air, landed on her car, (Custom build Trans Am SE) and crushed her inside for 3 hours. Ended up life flighting her to the hospital, end result, she is fine, but,,,, the damage is done mentally.

We've got a Honda Pilot. 3rd row seat is standard (folds flat) and it got GREAT crash test ratings.

Just bought my wife a RAV4 a few months ago. Although we did not get the 3rd seat option, it's available. We got rid of an Expedition. Didn't require a big gas hog anymore. Nice to have something that's fun to drive.

Nissan Pathfinder has one. Not something you want to use for really long trips though. New Explorer has a 3rd row seat that folds down real nice.

How about a good, used import? It will cost about the same as a new domestic, but you are more likely to get 100K miles out of it (in addition to whatever it already has) without having to make an major repairs.

The Volvos, BMWs and Mercedes are nice. I have linked a local guy near me that specializes in such import resales:

my fiance is wanting this too, she likes the new Nissan Pathfinder, but i think the Toyota highlander also has a 3rd row seat as well.

>> What about a crossover? Ford Freestyle has three rows.

Yeah, that would be cheaper than a used XC90, but you will need that saved money to rent something when the Ford's in the shop and for the costly repairs that will happen after 60K miles and off warranty...all of which are much less likely with an import!

We are looking for a decently loaded vehicle, needs to be leather, 4 wheel or all wheel drive, with the third seat option. Although money is not a huge factor. I am anticipating spending 30,000 to 33,000 for a used vehicle if it is worth it. Less it if is less of a vehicle..

Looking for a 2004 or newer.
