I have gone through two front driveshafts already in a year and a half. There has got to be a better joint than the rear one isn't there? Help!!
 
I am guessing that you have an issue creating the problem. Or,,, the first one failed and the second one was not installed properly.



These can literally go 100,000 miles and NEVER need replace...
 
Well I installed the driveshaft this time. Last time it was done by a different mechanic and both times the shafts were used. I suppose it's possible the parts were already on their way out I chose the shaft I installed this time and this shaft has no play in it so hopefully it will last the 100,000 miles.
 
I've had 196k on trucks before without an issue with driveshafts. My parents have had nearly 400k on Fords with no driveshaft issues. Something else must be causing it.
