What is this brown wire, tapped into the orange wire on the audio harness?

Thats not OEM, Looks like something for an alarm, remote start, navigation, cell phone, or some other device.

orange sounds like either illumitation signal or antenna wiring

Orange/white is illumination/dim. I can't tell if that's solid orange, however.

Did you have a tv nav unit installed? could be reverse wire or parking brake wire?

I originally had the 04 Audiophile system. Now I have aftermarket speakers, amps, and sub, but with OEM Adrenalin head unit. I also have an aftermarket alarm but I do not have the auto start kit installed. I have no other electronic items.



I found this connection unplugged and had no problems. Now that I've reconnected it, I don't see anything different.

Ey, you guys that guessed illumination were right. Early this morning I dimmed the interior lights and lo and behold, the entire center stack (radio and HVAC) dimmed as well. Never noticed it before, I guess this thing's been unplugged a really long time. Thanks!
