I'm going to kill the aluminum wheels that came with my st, so I'm being persuaded to take them off and then would put them back on for resale. I've been told steel is a good way to go, but I really don't know anything about wheels. Do I need to get the same size or can I get bigger tires? A little more ground clearance would be nice, but can I do that with just bigger tires? How much am I looking at for 4 new ones?

Thanks for any advice!

I'm guessing you're wanting to do some offroad stuff. You can pick up some cheap stealies from American Racing or similar for less then $400 for a set of four.

You can get more ground clearance by both going with a bigger tire, and going with a bigger wheel and a larger tire.

in all honesty unless you are really thrashing that brand new ST you do not need steel wheels. I have done a pretty good job of mashing through some offroading with my chrome rims.

you can go with the same size rim but move up to bigger tires (I just dont know what the bigegst is you can squeeze at stock height on an 07).

I might really beat them up, that's the issue and I think it might be worth it to have spanking new wheels to put back on them when I sell it in 3 years. I work in a harsh, rocky, muddy environment and like to go off roading on weekends so it's gonna have fun!
