I'm thinking about going to the Bahamas soon. Any of you folks been there? Do you recommend it? Where's the good places to go? Thanks a lot for any input.

Take a cruise going naussau.... pretty cost effective, accommodations and food is already covered. Atlantis Resort is beautiful... you'll like it there.

It is a very nice place. Definitely take a cruise. The resorts are nice, but this time of year, not too many people are there. It is a bit chilly too. I went this past Thanksgiving. It was cool and the water was chilly. No sun til the day before and the day of that we left. It is a beautiful place! Not much to do to be honest. At least not on Grand Bahama Island! I definitely reccomend it! Especially if you scuba dive. I have been certified since '01 but I didn't get a chance to go when I was there. -DD ST

Here is a pic of a Bahemian ST that was on the island. Pretty cool I thought. Also a pic of the sun coming up. Just to give you an idea, or not. :)

Wow! Pics are quite large. Check out my library! How do I downsize them?

i stayed at the atlantis hotel in nassau as vigilantes stated, it was one of the best vacations ever. expensive, but worth it. it is an all inclusive resort with a lot to offer.,, beautiful place.

We really like the Abacos. Some of our favorite places there are Hope Town on Elbow Cay , Green Turtle Cay and Man o War Cay. (Cay is spoken as Key) It is less commercial and more like the Bahamas was prior to Disney and Sandals. The locals are super nice. There was a credit card TV commercial (VISA I think) that had Miss Emily's Blue Bee Bar in Green Turtle featured in it. If you are looking for the real Bahamas, the Abacos are the place to go. If you want a modern hotel with all the amenities stick to the well known cruises and larger hotels. Either way it is great

We are lucky that we live so close. From our local inlet we are about 80 miles from West End in the Bahamas. We have been able to go a few times by boat and have flown over a time or two. From the Lake Worth inlet in Palm Beach County the Bahamas are only 52 or miles away. 30 some odd years ago our high school senior trip was a cruise to the Bahamas.
