Will these rims and tires fit?

Hey my names shane and i have a 2001 Sport trac 2wd. Ive always wanted to lift my truck but never really did any research or anything till now. Now that i have a little knowledge of what i have to do im starting to get really confused and really dont know what to do.

So what im planning is a shackle and tt lift, which i suppose is somewhat easy. And still being in highschool im on a low budget. Anyway after the lift im thinking that i gotta get new tires and i found some on craigslist but im wondering if these will fit and work on my truck. I know that the lug pattern is the same but thats basicly it. So will these work out? Has anyone else ran this combo before?

After the lift and tires is there anything else that i will need to do?

If you do a torsion twist and a shackle lift you may be able to fit those tires (for about $80 if u can change them yourself) but they are quite wide, the height isn't a problem with those but the width may be... you may need a body lift ... if you do it yourself would only cost about 300 dollars and you could fit those tires if not your looking at around $600 for someone to put it in for you after you buy the kit for $300... if you look under the projects section you can find some projects about doing the shackles yourself... for getting the shackles look for warrior products 153 shackles (WAR153)... I have a TT SL and BL in currently

Wheel offset and the inside ID also comes into play. Some 15" wont clear the brake calipers.

If they clear the calipers, I'd think they'd probably fit. Can't say for sure without knowing the backspacing but it looks to be less than 4" backspacing and if so, it should be fine. You have to know for sure that they clear the calipers, though.



You would have to do some trimming for a 12.5" wide tire, everyone does regardless of lift (unless it's a huge lift). Because of how shallow that backspacing looks, I'd think you probably have a good bit of trimming to do but it looks like it could be done if you're not afraid of cutting your truck.



The best bet would be to go visit the seller and test fit them.

Thank you everyone for your help i appreciate it! Im actually just thinking about first getting the shackle and lift done and then just waiting around on craigslist for a set of tires to fit on the stock wheels. Would that be a better plan? and also travis what are the size tires youre running since i see that you also used the stock wheels.



And one more question how big could i go with just a shackle and tt lift? im pretty sure i could install this myself. Im pretty sure i cant do a bodylift myself though.

Im running 265/75/16 (32") and that's probably the max with the TT ams SL but if you do a bodylift as well you can get 285/75/16 (33") on the stock rims but that's the max

I saw some pictures of sport tracs with just a tt and shackle with 33" tires on them. Is it just that you have to trim alot of the truck?

Yea I've seen a few online like that but they must have gutted the insides of their wheel wells to make room... I prefer not cutting but ill have to see when I put my superlift kit in and put my 35s on to see if I need to cut at all... I hope since ill have 9-10 inches of lift total I wont have to

From what I have seen on this site. Most lifted tracs only could use. 33" tire on a 4 to 4 1/2 back space.

Sorry Travis, you're still going to have to trim if you actually use the suspension. If you're on road only, you may have a chance at not trimming.

It's not that bad. I was apprehensive before I did but it got easier after the first cut. I haven't had to do any cosmetic cutting...yet.
