Wonder what this costs

I suppose that this is a LOT lower-impact than a unicycle, but still, I don't trust it. Didn't see any dudes in that commercial.

Considering that I've heard that you have to "toughen up" the family jewels to ride a unicycle and all....honestly, if one obtains what they call a "testicular callous", I think they have another word that starts with C.

Cooler than a segway?

Well, maybe...but a segway is almost the antithesis of cool. I'd say so, since this thing can strafe, but the segway cannot.

Though with so many incidents of back pain, and the subsequent forward hunching, would this just exacerbate back pain..and can it balance with all the weight shifted forward from where it should be?

Also, all the activities shown in this video should, if done by people with physical levels like their models, be done standing.

The museum example was rather dumb, you can read a program while standing. Carrying a box has some merit, but you can do the same thing by putting the box on a cart, and a cart costs far less than this, and is much safer for heavy loads.

Right there with ya KL. Just don't really see a market for this thing other than the same couple thousand people who bought segways and need the latest gadget.

That was definately something different. I can see all the "techno-weenies" running out to get one. But I still have to think, is this is what our society is coming to? Minimizing our physical activity even further in an already bloated, obese and out of shape group of people? I just don't know, technological advancement for the disabled might be something I could appreciate. Bob

I dunno about that thing.....wonder if it could hold my 300lb ass!!! Other then that they at least had a good looking blond :supercool:

I thought the stereotype of those people was that they lived in their mom's basement...this thing doesn't do stairs

Unless you mean the Mac-using hipsters...I could honestly see that, this looks like something that would fit into the decorum of the Apple store. It'd fit right in with the clientele @ the Genius Bar, I could see people rolling around on these while using their iPads, holding their "Chai Tea" and yoga mats.

...especially since those sandals aren't the greatest for long-distance walking.

(Disclaimer: I'm sure there are people who don't fit that description who use macs...but those aren't the kind of people you'd see soliciting the Genius Bar..and I haven't actually seen mac users like so.)

This does seem like a very possible replacement for walkers and canes. That would be a legitimate use, IMO.

Imagine a nursing home full of these things.

or Florida sidewalks.:bwahaha:
