I have something similar on my 07. Works just fine.



When installing it, if you cut off a small piece of hose (maybe an inch long) to put over it temporarily , you can use a wrench to tighten it and not scratch the antenna. And then keep the piece of hose in case you need to tighten it again later.

I HAD one on my 01 and the reception was horrible! .I am a talk radio listener and the a/m became useless,f/m got fuzzy about 20 miles shorter from home than it was prior.

you can just cut off or shorten the stock antenna if you want, don't cut the ball off the top, take the rod out of the base mount, cut it off and reinstall, works fine, but it will cut your reception depending upon distance, etc.,
