did you order it from Torrie? and did you tell him which tunes you wanted? if you did, then plug it into your OBDII port under your steering wheel, with your car turned off. It will start up with a blue screen. You will arrow over to Tune Vehicle, i believe the next choice is Custom Tunes, click on that and then pick which tune you want to have on your truck. There should be 3. Select which one you want, turn your ignition on, just DO NOT start the truck. when its in the on position click continue and it will load your tune onto the truck. Takes a few minutes longer the first time you do it if i remember right. Only like 2-3 minutes though.

Yes i ordered it from Torrie. I told him what i have done to the truck but I am not 100% positive what tunes he put on there. I was reading the instruction on the CD and it said something about having to hook it up to a windows computer. Is that if you wanted to tune it yourself or something?

So i put it on 93 performance and I can definitely feel the difference in power. But i dont likw how it shifts. Should i try a different tuner?? Does anyone know which of the tuners is the best??

Geoff,

I don't own an Xcal3, but I think you'll find differing opinions on this. It depends on your personal preference. You should switch to the other tunes, drive around with them for a bit and you will find something that YOU like best.

You also have to give it 2-3 days of driving, the truck needs time to adjust...

If the shifts are too hard, soft, what ever. Email Torrie and he can adjust the tune, email it to you and then using the computer you can download the new tune into the xcal and then into your truck....

My 93P tunes are the most aggressive out of the group including shift firmness. If you need me to make an adjustment email me.

The X3 Power Flash VIN locks to a single vehicle. You cannot use the device to tune a new or different vehicle until you have returned the original vehicle back to stock, which will unlock the device.

"You can only change the vehicles 5 times before the unit is permanently locked."

Dose this mean i can only flash my truck 5 times and thats it?

No. When your X3 is loaded with tunes by Torrie and you then upload a tune to your Trac, it becomes locked to your vehicle via the VIN and can be used with another vehicle unless you unlock the X3. If you get an X3 with three different tunes, you can change the tunes as often as you desire to do so.

You just can't switch to another vehicle without unlocking the X3 from your Trac, and after doing this five times, the X3 is locked and totally useless.

Contact Torrie, and he'll answer all of your questions and hook you up.

ok good i am going to get one tomarrow from a dealer in my area for $350.00

And i did email torrie and asked him a few things but i just wanted to make sure that i could flash my truck at least 1000 times lol

Shawn,

Is your local dealer going to write custom tunes just for you and your Trac, or will the X3 come with preloaded, "canned", generic tunes?

Torrie has tons of experience writing custom tunes specifically for Sport Tracs, and if I'm not mistaken, his X3 w/custom tunes is only $379.

You won't be sorry. You'll be amazed at the improvements with a new tune, and Torrie's customer service is the best, both at the time of purchase and follow-up. If you have any questions after the purchase, he'll answer them all!

Good luck!

As far as the 5 times changing vehicles. Then the xcal3 locks.

I have an odd situation with mine. I bought it used. I had torrie write custom tunes for mine. That means it has been on 2 vehicles now. When I scroll to the xcal3 info. It says I still have 5 unlocks left. Odd. Maybe that funtion is locked out. Or it is not recording the 2 vehicles. It should say I have 3 left.

ok good to know

Becuz I love to flash things lol I have flashed my cell phone about 100 times (changes to the rom)

I have flashed my Xbox, Xbox 360, Playstation 2, and of course my computer bios so i know if when I get this chip I will use the crap out of it...
