    Get it changed out. I didn't do it on my '02 and it broke... destroyed the engine. I only had 69,000 miles on it.

    Actually, I don't see anywhere on the TSB where it says the warranty has been extended, for any year not just 02. And by the way, my chain already broke. I did not have the time to argue about it I had to get it fixed.

    Oh forgot... the dealer told me the warrantly wasn't extended on the 2002... See my other posts. Ford wouldn't stand by their product once the chain broke. Here I come Nissan or Toyota....

    This is a TSB, forgot what number. Anyway, my ST had the same problem. At 66,000 miles the timing chain broke and destroyed my engine. Spend the money now to replace it!!!!!

    I had to have my engine rebuilt T 65,000 miles because the timing belt broke! i AM leaving the ST (and Ford) world ASAP. Ford did not stand behind their product. Hell, my Saturn lasted 130,000 with no serious problems like this. It will be a Toyota or Nissan for me,

    All I know is I had the rattling too. And my timing belt broke. And my engine is totally trashed. To me if a part like this goes up at 65,000 miles your vehicle is a piece of sh**.

    I had something similar happen. The gauge read near empty. When I went to fill it up, the tank only took a few gallons then gas started shooting out of the tank and the nozzle clicked off.     The dealer said the number 6 piston is shot. But they haven't opened up the engine to take a look at it, they said it would probably cost too much to do that. I asked about the TSB, but they said the timing chain on an 02 ws not covered on the extended warranty. When it happened I heard it...
