Having PCM trouble again. I have gone through this twice before. First time local mech tried to replace it unsuccessfully and then to the dealer who knocked it out easily. Problem with drivetrain alarm. The little wrench light. Dealer says it’s the PCM but lead time for replacement is 6+ months...

Well, I was able to get a set of electrical drawings. And it turned out that neither the junction box nor the relay were the problem but wiring at the right rear taillight. Thanks though

2010 4.0 liter 4x4. A’ight, somebody out there must have some knowledge of the SMJ. Please talk to me. Is there no longer a relay for the park lights/tail lights? Am I at the mercy of the dealer for tail lights???

Could it be that I do not have such a relay and it has been replaced by the “smart” portion of the junction box. If so, what would be my next step trouble shooting?

I just got gigged at the state inspection. I have a 2010 sportrac XLT 4.0 liter 4x4. My gig is that both tail lights/park lights and tag light are not working. I’ve got good bulbs and good fuse so I’m leaning towards the relay. The problem being is that I cannot find the relay. I found on...

I’m finding that my driver’s side window does not always continue closing Ala auto. I this a switch issue or is there another component that takes over when you hold the switch?

I replaced mine along with the thermostat. The thermostat that came with the housing, as an assembly, was a higher temp thermostat. Watch out for that if you replace the thermostat too.

If you’re not set up to do the work yourself, like me. You can drop $2100 at your local dealer and they will change out the bearing and the driveshafts as they sell it as an assembly. If I had a place to do it, I would have definitely gone with just the bearing change

Well, got my truck back after two days at the dealer and the non-discounted price of $2100 for the replacement of the shaft and bearing due to it being in an “assembly “. I would venture to guess that ford just stopped selling these parts publicly in order for them to be the sole source for...

Dealer says that they can have it in a day but, I have to get the whole assy that includes the driveshaft

Got an appt at ford Monday. I went through a bunch of trouble trying to get the computer fixed outside of ford. Couldn’t even get a replacement from ford. Then I took it to ford and they fixed me up in two days. I think it’s worth a try. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll go the other route

Well, Mr Murphy strikes again. I had been holding off on new tires until I could get it checked out had a look when tires weRe being mounted.

I’ve got a bit of play in my carrier bearing. A lot . Is this a part that can be swapped out or does it require rebuilding the whole shaft? Anyone had to do this before? All help is appreciated
