IMO, one of the earliest and STILL the best t-stat housing R&R tutorials.

Good choice with the $135 one piece Simmons Autosportz replacement. Buy once, cry once.
Order the SINGLE SENSOR housing since the 2004-05 gauge sender is not wired and only...
Please keep us posted if you go forward with this. Tops of my panels are really the only eye sores on my pampered 2005.
I've looked for matching panels for a long time and know they're only going to get more scarce since they were discontinued many years ago.
Looks nice @SwampTrac. Considered painting all four door panels, but many of the results I've seen were bordering hideous after a short time. Guess it's all about prep and adhesion. I've tried almost every well known conditioning product on the panels that included stupid expensive Wipe-New that...
Good condition driver seat covers are usually the toughest to find. Almost always outer edge wear on the bottom where you slide in and out.
I'm having a difficult time finding interior door panels without sun faded tops. Most salvage yards will only sell them as complete doors. Tempted to...
YES please! Agree the "girly bag" console is not space efficient or functional for me either.
Been a while since a "new" project was added. You'll be the first in a long time. Thanks!
BTW, where do you source the "cans"? eBay, military friend, etc.
2001 tutorial but everything still applies.
Performance Accessories 883 body lift kit.
Warrior 153 lift shackles for rear leafs.

Welcome!
Nice, clean silver Trac! Similar to my white 2005 XLS with "5 spoke "teardrop" wheels. I wanted a base model because the added features on the XLT were things I would never use and are more things to possibly fail. Window visors are somewhat easy to remove. If they are "in channel"...
Steering wheel shudder can happen when the power steering system fluid (Mercon V ATF) is aerated. Usually occurs when working on the front suspension or steering and is caused by turning the steering wheel or hubs when the engine is OFF. Check P/S fluid level first. Purge air from the P/S system...

You'd be surprised how often left and right calipers get mixed up. Happens on EF quite often. That's why it's advised to replace one side at a time. Had one hack refusing to check after being told several times. After struggling for one week he said the bleeders were on the bottom. Will never...
Compare belt routing with the decal under the hood on the top of the radiator or shown in owners manual.
With the belt installed, check if the center indicator is between both outer tensioner marks.
I believe the OEM tensioner is made by Gates.
IIRC, 2001-02 had rear drums. 2003-05 had rear disc brakes.
Are the "star adjusters" frozen?
If so, and as per @DILLARD000, soak with penetrant then retract them all the way in.
Then it's BFH time. Dead blow type preferred.
