    Life Support System out

Hey ed, it is not hard if you like to work on cars and have the tools, you can charge and purge the system yourself but if ya have to have system purged and charged and the part its going to be a grandish or more at a shop. i have used sealant in the past and had it work on the road quite a few...

    TPMS

I have watched so many companies go way south in last few years so what happened did not shock me as it would of 5 years ago, so for 40 plus years and all over the us, i was taken back by what just happened, even more so when i moved from oregon as it went south to west virginia.. also why i...

the discount tire in martinsburg wv, scraped up 2 bbs wheels on my daughters tucson night when she came home on leave few months back and they are satin black, and acknowledged the person who did it and said sue us.. after 40 plus years using them i was in shock. the rims are a couple grand each...

    1st gen brakes

Depends on your use, if you are going to haul trailer then run something like power stop etc, i beefed mine up and it was worth the little extra money..if just a daily driver then not so much. but brakes are not something to go cheap. brake dust is another factor. i would do like you are...

2001 - Looking to replace stock radio

Blert has it dialed in, i had some insane sound systems back in the day and sony, alpine were so good and they just starting making junk,,a head unit is important but the speakers is where the sound matters. if your still rocking the factory in your 01 your going to be happy with any upgrade. i...

2001 - Looking to replace stock radio

I have had a few from flip outs to single and double dins,,the price point ya mentioned is so borderline on really nice units to ok, you can go cheap like boss etc. and replace fairly quick as they do not last or step it up and do it in a few years as far as longest lasting with features i had...

    "Check Gauges" 2005 Sport Trac

looks like it is stuck in a acc mode,,ignition would be my first thought but you did that,,try pulling fuse out for it and see if it goes off. i would continue to try a few fuses to isolate area maybe it will give ya some ideas,, electric is one of those areas that suck..

    Life Support System out

The clicking could be compressor or clutch trying to engage, you have to watch and have someone turn on and off to see what it is trying to do,,relays go bad but if ya got a leak ya need to throw dye in it to find, or waste a can of freon and spray lines with soapy water. i would do as ya...

    Life Support System out

Aloha Ed,, The ac on older vehicles are a little easier to figure out and either ac clutch gap gets to big or freon as rk mentioned, sometimes low switch or some electronic. if freon is low it usually means a leak if its old and dirty in lines it will just not get as cold. you can tap on outside...

2004 Sport Trac No crank No start

Just 12 is low, cold kills battery. our busiest time at jci was fall, we make auto batteries..you should be in the low 13 with a good battery, try boosting it or does it start with a jump, if does not start with a jump right away i would spray some starting fluid in it, yes ya have to take air...

    warm up

With out a doubt, i do the same thing,,starving the engine of oil on a turn and burn is the same as not priming your oil filter on install, just the initial engagement of trans on higher rpms will put more stress on a drivetrain. this is why buying a used car scares me. i also change my oil to 5...

    2005 ford freestar

Thank you, i am scratching my head on this one, other forums do not describe the same issue, was thinking a alternator but with a new battery i would think it would power something. can not even open rear hatch from being locked. The most bizarre is right turn signal blinks when running but no...

    2005 ford freestar

thanks todd, i have read quite a few that talk about water coming down cowl and leaking, i checked it, looked ok but just baffling..it runs great so i thought maybe alternator but fully charged battery i thought would have amps to run elctronics as there is none. but the front turn signal runs...
