Hi. I am not very knowledgable about mechanical issues, but everyone here seems to be so I thought I would ask for some help. I own a 2002 with ~58,000miles (automatic transmission). I have done all the recommended maintenance on the truck since I bought it new. Yesterday I noticed a problem. When I was driving/accelerating over 60mi/hr, I felt the truck slip, and it jolted-very noticiable. The RPM isn't going over 2000 either. Also when driving it after accelerating fast and then coming to a quick stop (I was testing it) the truck completely died, and all the gauges turned on. After restarting it, it started fine. Any ideas of what this could be? I will be changing the transfer case and differential fluid shortly, but without much knowledge about mechanics, I don't know if this is related or not. Please help!!

Sounds like the torque converter in the tranny is sticking..... Or a valve...

Try disconnection your batter neg cable for 1/2 hour and re try...
