road experiences...haven't heard much. I don't have the LS like I did in my 03

If you are looking for experiences with the 4x4 '07 with the V8 off road, last weekend I was at my brothers house helping him out. He just bought it and is doing a lot of renovations. His yard is quite messy, and they recently had rain, so it was quite muddy. I never put it in 4x4 high, just left it in the auto setting. When the rear broke loose the front end would kick in. It would kind of make a thump sound, the traction control light would flash on the dash and up out of the mud it would come. This was with the stock Michelin Cross Terrains on the 18" Limited wheels.

I see the button auto 4x4, but pushing does not activate any indicator light on the control panel, if it is a selector switch like it appears to be (it depresses), then how do I know it is active? or is automatic and the TC light flashes when actually in action? but then why the button?
