2003 Rotor Size question...

I am thinking about refreshing brakes on all 4 corners.



Rock Auto has Power Stop full Rotor/Pad kits at a pretty good price.



But they list two different rotor sizes for the front rotors. 12.01 inch and 11.97 inch.



I never knew the 1st gen tracs had different front rotor sizes. Was there some particular transition date for this?



I guess I gotta go measure mine before I order the set.

Could it be the difference between the 2WD vs the 4WD fronts?

Ford says the Gen-1 Sport Trac has 12" rotors...I don't know the exact measurements, but the difference between the two is infinetly small, and probably not an issue.



Assuming you selected the correct vehicle, make, model, 2wd or 4wd, then I would simply measure my existing rotors. If they are a hair under 12" then choose the 11.97" rotors. If they measure a hair over 12" then I would go with the 12.01" rotors...although I doubt that it really matters that much. My concern would be that they may have an error on their online catalog or you or RockAuto is confusing the 2wd and 4wd rotors....They are not interchangeable !!!

I was just looking at RockAuto, and the 11.97" is for 4WD. The 12.01 is for RWD (2WD)
