HI everyone,

I know everybody recommends changing shocks on the ST. I'm looking at a 2005 ST with 5k on it and was wondering if Ford had fixed this issue on the 2005 or is it still necessary.

Thanks

Ian

Ian,

No reason to "fix" the shocks. For the average person, they are happy with them. The shocks are not bad, they are just designed for a vehicle that weighs about 600 LBS less then the Trac does.

I used to think the OEM shocks were just fine, until around 5,000 miles on the Trac. AT that point, the shocks were gone and I nearly had two accidents from the rear end bouncing uncontrollably on the OKC highways.

I was a hold out too, but new ProComp 9000s made a HUGE difference.

The old shocks seemed to have hardly any resistance.

Change 'em out and start to Live a little!
